Girls and Boys in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Scouts 6th grade and older can join a Scout Troop.
Meetings are twice a month on Thursdays during the school year at Grant Elementary.
The most convenient time to join Scouts is at the beginning of the school year, but we welcome new Scouts all year long! If your child missed out on joining Scouts in kindergarten, first or second grade, it's not too late to join! They will be placed in a group with other Scouts their age.
Scouts are divided into grade-level groups called dens as follows:
Kindergarten: Lions
1st Grade: Tigers
2nd Grade: Woves
3rd Grade: Bears
4th Grade: Webelos
5th Grade: Arrow of Light (Notes: 5th graders cross over into a 220 Troop for boys or girls in November)
Cub Scout dues cover the cost to register your Scout with the National and Local councils, to pay for the awards that your Scout earns throughout the year, and to cover the cost of the meeting facilities and snacks. In addition to this, families will need to purchase a uniform and can optionally pay for the weekend adventures like Emerald Bay and Family Camp.
2025 Dues: $300 for the first Scout, $250 for additional siblings.
No, Pack 12 does not organize a fundraiser. Scouts are of course welcome to raise funds on their own to cover the dues and other expenses.
Cub Scouts is definitely a family activity! We encourage parents to be involved in their Cub Scout's experience, to be present and helpful at meetings, and to make outings and overnights a family experience.
Email join@pack12cubscouts.org to let us know you are interested in joining along with the name and grade of your potential Scout(s) and we can provide you with next steps.
