All Scouts will first gain the rank of Bobcat. This important rank teaches new Scouts important aspects of being a Cub Scout including:
The Scout Oath
The Scout Law
The Scout Sign
The Scout Handshake
Our Cub Scout Motto
The Cub Scout Salute
As a parent, it will be helpful if you review these frequently with your Scout as they are used in our Scout meetings.
On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout Is
Trustworthy
Loyal
Helpful
Friendly
Courteous
Kind
Obedient
Cheerful
Thrifty
Brave
Clean, and
Reverent
Scouts are required to wear their uniform to all Pack events unless stated otherwise. The components of the uniform for each rank are outlined on the Scouting America site. Uniforms can be purchased online or at the Scout store in Sherman Oaks (map) where they can attach some of the necessary badges for you. Appropriate footwear should always be worn to Scouting events. No open-toed shoes or flip-flops are ever allowed for safety reasons.
We occasionally have gently used uniforms that have been donated back to the troop, especially neckerchiefs, slides and hats from the previous rank. Please check with the Committee Chair for availability.
